Gynoxin is a combined preparation of Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Nystatin and Metronidazole. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside having bactericidal activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Polymyxin B is effective against gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Nystatin is a polyene antifungal agent with excellent antifungal activity. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole which is effective against various anaerobic bacteria and protozoa.

Presentation

    Gynoxin Vaginal Suppository: Each suppository contains Neomycin Sulphate BP 51.47 mg equivalent to Neomycin 35000 IU, Polymyxin B Sulphate BP 5 mg equivalent to Polymyxin B 35000 IU, Nystatin BP 20 mg equivalent to Nystatin 100000 IU and Metronidazole BP 200 mg.

Indications

    Gynoxin is indicated in vaginal mixed infections (bacterial or fungal), vaginal leucorrhoeas (mycotic or bacterial origin) and vaginal trichomoniasis.

Dosage & Administration

    One suppository to be inserted into vagina at bedtime for 12 days, or as directed by the physician.

Contrainidications

    Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.

Warning & Precautions

    Caution should be taken in case of renal impaired patients.

Side effects

    Skin rash and urticaria may occur rarely.

    Use in lactation: Caution should be taken in case of lactating mothers.
