Ivermectin a broad-spectrum anti-parasitic agent, is used in human for the treatment of scabies and filariasis. Ivermectin binds selectively and with high affinity to glutamate- gated chloride ion channels in invertebrate muscle cell and nerve cells of parasite. This binding causes an increase in permeability of the cell membrane to chloride ions and results in hyperpolarization of cell, leading to paralysis and death of the parasite.
Ivactin 6 Tablet: Each tablet contains Ivermectin BP 6 mg.
Ivactin 12 Tablet: Each tablet contains Ivermectin BP 12 mg.
Ivermectin is used in the treatment of scabis caused by Sarcoptes scabiei, filariasis caused by Wuchereria bancrofti and head lice.
Scabies:
150 mcg per kg of body weight as a single dose for one treatment. Treatment may be repeated two weeks after the first treatment for immunocompromised patient.
Filariasis:
20 to 200 mcg per kg of body weight as a single dose have been used.
Head lice:
200 mcg per kg of body weight as a single dose have been used. Additional 1-2 dose may be used after 7 days if needed.
It is contraindicated in patient who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.
Stop taking Ivermectin and contact the physician in case of allergic reaction.
Common side effects are as nausea, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea or constipation, muscle or joint pain swelling of the lymph nodes, fever, tiredness, dizziness, itching, eyelid swelling or eye redness, tremor.
Use of Ivermectin with diazepam and related tranquilizers as well as any monoamine oxidase inhibitors may exaggerate the sedative effect.
Use in Pregnancy and Lactation:
Safety and efficacy have not yet been established for pregnant and lactating women.
Use in Children:
Safety and efficacy have not been established for infants and children weighing less than 15 kg

Ivactin 12 Tablet: Each box contains 10 tablets in alu-alu blister strip
