A combination of Psyllium and Senna is a powerful laxative that speeds up intestinal passage and improves filling pressure which ensures faster relief from constipation. Apart from constipation, it reduces straining during defecation, and hemorrhoids & also improves bowel motion.
Fibosyl-S is a combination of Psyllium fiber (Bulk-forming laxative) and senna extract (stimulant laxative). Its fiber contains mucilage and Senna extract contains hydroxyanthracene glycosides (as Sennoside B) that help to relieve constipation and normalize bowel action. The additive effect of Fibosyl-S is ensured for its combination partners. This special combination preparation accelerates intestinal passage and increases water absorption to increase filling pressure. Fibosyl-S helps to reduce pain by easy bowel evacuation with soft stool for patients suffering from hemorrhoids (piles), rectal surgery, and colon cancer. It has soothing effects on gastric and intestinal mucosa, gastric irritation, and ulceration. Fibosyl-S lowers serum cholesterol levels (LDL) and blood glucose levels.

Fibosyl-S is intended for oral use after mixing with water. The granules should be stirred into 150 ml water (two-thirds of a glass) and should be taken as soon as the effervescence subsides.
Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 spoonful/1-2 sachet at night with at least 150 ml water or as directed by the physician. Fibosyl-S can be taken with fruit juice, milk, and a warm drink. Fibosyl-S should not be taken until ½ to 1 hour after intake of other medications. Continuous use for more than 2 weeks requires medical supervision.
Contraindicated for patients with pathological narrowing in the gastrointestinal tract, intestinal obstructions, and acutely inflamed intestinal diseases, e.g. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, appendicitis, and abdominal pain of unknown origin. Contraindicated for children under 12 years old.
Do not exceed the stated dose. Use for longer periods may worsen any existing bowel sluggishness. The preparation should be used only if constipation cannot be remedied by a change in diet or with the aid of bulking agents.
Spasmodic gastrointestinal complaints may occur very rarely. In these cases, a reduction of the dose is required. In the course of treatment, a harmless red coloring of the urine may appear.
Chronic use may cause potassium deficiency which may increase the effectiveness of cardiac glycosides and influence the action of antiarrhythmic drugs. Potassium deficiency can be increased by simultaneous application of thiazide diuretics, corticoadrenal steroids. A reduction of the dosage of insulin may be necessary for insulin-dependent diabetics.
