Taflan SUD is a 100% preservative-free ophthalmic solution. It is a safe prostaglandin analogue which is used as a first-line treatment option for open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Apart from reducing IOP, it provides neuroprotection. Taflan SUD shows a lower incidence of Conjunctival hyperemia & Iris pigmentation than other prostaglandin Analogues. For the 1st time in Bangladesh, it is manufactured with USA technology from Weiler, which ensures the optimum quality of the product. It is manufactured with USDMF grade raw material from Taiwan. It ensures a high degree of product sterility assurance. It is supplied in a real Re-closable vial, ensures convenience & less wastage, while daily use; thus, reduces unnecessary costs at a time.
Taflan SUD is a 100% preservative-free ophthalmic solution. Taflan SUD (Tafluprost) is a selective FP (Fluoroprostaglandin) prostanoid receptor agonist which reduces intraocular pressure by increasing uveoscleral outflow as well as to a lesser degree through the trabecular outflow pathway. It also relaxes the ciliary artery in smooth muscle due to inhibition of Ca2+ influx into the cells. Hence, it increases ocular blood flow and thus provides neuroprotective action. Taflan SUD shows a lower incidence of Conjunctival hyperemia & Iris pigmentation than other prostaglandin Analogues.
Taflan SUD Preservative-free Ophthalmic Solution: Each ml contains Tafluprost INN 0.015 mg.
Taflan SUD Preservative-free Ophthalmic Solution is indicated for reducing elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.
In patients who are hypersensitive to any of the components of this preparation.
• For ophthalmic use only.
• Wash your hands before use.
• To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not let the open end of the single-unit dose vial touch your eye or anything else.
• If you wear contact lenses – take out your lenses before using Ophthalmic Solution and then wait for at least 15 minutes after using this drops before putting your lenses back in.
• If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered at least five (5) minutes between applications.
Since Tafluprost is PRESERVATIVE-FREE, it avoids the potential risks caused by the preservatives.
Use in pregnancy: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Tafluprost ophthalmic solution should be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
Use in lactation: It is not known whether Tafluprost is excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised while giving this ophthalmic solution to a nursing mother.
Use in children: Safety and effectiveness have not been demonstrated with this Ophthalmic Solution in pediatric patients.
Use in elderly patients: No overall differences in safety or effectiveness have been observed between elderly and younger adult patients.
Taflan SUD Preservative-free Ophthalmic Solution: Each Alu-Alu pillow pack contains 5 single-unit dose vials (SUD’s). Each single-unit dose vial contains 0.2 ml of Ophthalmic Solution.
