Wikitin is a preparation of Omargliptin, a latest once weekly oral antidiabetic medication belongs to Dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitors (DPP-4i) is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.
Wikitin is a potent, long acting once weekly DPP-4 inhibitor which significantly improves the glycemic parameters in general & renal impaired T2DM patients. It inhibits DPP-4 to increase incretin levels (GLP-1 and GIP) which inhibit glucagon release, increases insulin secretion, decreases gastric emptying and decreases blood glucose levels.
