Scabies is a significant public health concern in Bangladesh right now, particularly in rural and low-income areas due to overcrowding and limited access to healthcare. Permethrin 5% & Crotamiton 10% combination is a well-established topical scabicidal and antipruritic agent for the treatment of Scabies. Permethrin disrupts the sodium channels in mite nerves, thereby causes paralysis & death of mites; whereas Crotamiton inhibits TRPV4 calcium ion channels in sensory neurons, thereby reduces itching & inflammation. Thus, the combination ensures complete eradication of Scabies and its associated symptoms.
